Ford is reportedly in talks with Porsche about building a Mustang 5th generation car, according to Bloomberg.
The automaker is interested in building a 5th-gen Mustang in Detroit, but the company would prefer a smaller car that has less interior space, according Bloomberg.
Ford is also interested in a Mustang convertible, Bloomberg notes, though it would likely use a smaller version of the Mustang.
Ford will likely build the 5th gen Mustang in 2019, but it’s not clear if the company will start production of the car by the end of this year.
The Mustang is Ford’s fifth-generation sedan, following the 2015 F-150 Raptor, 2016 Mustang X, 2017 F-450 Raptor and 2017 Mustang GT.
The company unveiled the first 5th Gen model at the 2017 New York International Auto Show and debuted the fifth-gen model at last month’s Detroit auto show.
The fifth-Gen model is expected to feature a redesigned cabin, powertrain, and powertrains.
Ford recently unveiled a redesigned version of its F-350 Raptor.
